TROUBLESHOOTING

# Facebook Marketplace notifications not working? Try these fixes.

Saved-search alerts that never arrive, arrive hours late, or stop after a few days are one of the most common Marketplace complaints. Work through the checks below in order.

Facebook changes its menus often. The names below may differ slightly in your version of the app; look for the closest match.

## 1. Check the saved search itself

- Open Marketplace and find your saved searches. Confirm the search still exists and that notifications are switched on for it.
- Re-create the search if it's old. Deleting and saving it again fixes a surprising number of cases.
- Keep the search specific. Very broad searches seem to notify less consistently than narrow ones.

## 2. Check Facebook's notification settings

- In the Facebook app, open Settings, then Notifications, and find Marketplace. Make sure push notifications are allowed.
- Check that you haven't muted Marketplace notifications from a notification's own menu.

## 3. Check your phone

- **iPhone:** Settings › Notifications › Facebook: allow notifications, and check Focus modes aren't silencing them.
- **Android:** Settings › Apps › Facebook › Notifications, and turn off battery optimization for Facebook so the system doesn't put it to sleep.
- Update the Facebook app, then sign out and back in.

## 4. Check your account

- Make sure you're signed in to the account that saved the search.
- Marketplace access can be limited on new or restricted accounts. If Marketplace itself shows a warning, notifications won't fix that.

## 5. Accept the limits, or go around them

Even when everything is set correctly, saved-search alerts can be late, batched, or missing, and there's no setting that guarantees speed. Also, a listing's posted time isn't when it became visible in your search, so an alert on a “2 hours ago” listing isn't always late. [Here's why.](https://pounce.gg/marketplace-alerts#listing-age)

If you buy to resell, a dedicated monitor is more dependable. Pounce checks your Marketplace searches continuously from your Windows PC, filters out junk and scams, prices what it finds, and sends alerts to Discord, Telegram, or Windows. If a Pounce alert ever seems missing, [this checklist](https://pounce.gg/missed-marketplace-alerts) separates search, filter, pricing, and delivery causes. ## Common questions

**Why am I not getting Facebook Marketplace notifications?**

The most common causes are notifications turned off for Marketplace in the Facebook app, phone-level notification or battery restrictions on the Facebook app, a saved search without notifications enabled, or an outdated app. Facebook also doesn't promise an alert for every matching listing.

**How do I turn on notifications for a saved Marketplace search?**

Open Marketplace, go to your saved searches, and make sure notifications are on for that search. Then check the Facebook app's notification settings for Marketplace. Menu names move between app versions, so look for Marketplace under Settings and Notifications.

**Are Facebook Marketplace saved search notifications instant?**

Not reliably. Many users report delays or batching. If speed matters, dedicated alert tools check your searches continuously and deliver to apps like Discord or Telegram.
